Day 3 of Daddyless week - we decided to spend the morning at the Children's Museum to 1) expend some energy, 2) have some fun and 3) see some friends. Since the school year has already begun, the crowds were smaller and less congested than over the summer. Instead of going to our usual Playscape, we thought we would head over to Take Me There: Egypt.
Andrew headed to the local market to peruse the fresh fruits and vegetables.
Andrew thought they were real and many times tried to eat the banana, pear and orange. Much to his dismay, they did not taste like the real thing. He also liked to hoard his produce by balancing a third fruit/vegetable on his chest while grasping the other two in his hands. He couldn't understand why he kept dropping the third.
As he kept walking, he discovered a room with a huge mirror. If you don't already know, Andrew is a little into himself.
Saying goodbye took about 20 minutes. Andrew kept circling this screen to watch how to say "good bye" in Arabic. Towards the end, when he heard the screen say "Ma'as Salaama," he would wave good bye.
Andrew had a lot of fun in the gallery. He chased anything with wheels - including a tuk-tuk, multiple strollers, a woman in a wheelchair, and my friend Grant's exhibit cart. He laughed and followed big kids, tried to hug small kids, and learned a new language. After all of the fun he had, he was very thoughtful and gave mommy a break by napping for 3 hours. :)
