I love my Auntie!

Andrew was very lucky and had his Aunt Khanh visit him the past two weekends.  He had a lot of fun with her and misses her already!

2 months old!

Where has the time gone? Our little chunky monkey is already two months old! At our last doctor's appointment Andrew weighed in at a whopping 12 lbs., 14 oz! He has gained more than five pounds since he was born! He has also had a growth spurt. He went from 21 inches to 24 inches! He's already wearing his 3-6 month clothes.

A little bit about Andrew:
- He loves to smile and laugh!
- He grabs mommy's shirt and his own hair quite frequently
- He definitely has daddy's feet...
- His eye color has not changed yet
- His flatulence could put a grown up to shame!

More to come later!

Summer Garden!

Dustin has been working very hard on our veggie garden. Here is our before picture - when we were getting the garden ready. Dustin built two raised beds and planted lots and lots of heirloom vegetables.

Not only do we have a veggie garden, but we have planted lots of pots with different herbs. We have three different types of mint: Kentucky, Lemon and Banana!

Bush slicer cucumbers...

Lots of strawberries!

Thyme...

Rosemary!

Our heirloom tomatoes are fruiting!

Savoy cabbage...

Brussels sprouts...Yum!

Potatoes are flowering!

Lots and lots of onions! Did I mention we have lots of onions?
Lemon cucumbers...

The beginning of our Trumpet Squash.

The strawberry bed...

One of our blueberry bushes. If you look close enough, you can see some of the fruit. Some birds have been pecking away at it, so we will have to do something about that.

And to end, a picture of Indy's newest Master Gardener!

You can see why we call him our Buddha baby! :

Smiles and Giggles!

Andrew with his Nana and Papa!

Andrew with his Ba (Vietnamese Grandma)!

Andrew with his Ong (Vietnamese Grandpa)!

So...tired...

We finally caught his smiles on film!

Andrew's Baptism

Many friends and family members came to celebrate this wonderful day with us. Nana and Papa from Oklahoma, Ong and Ba (Vietnamese grandparents) from Kansas, Aunt Khanh (Godmother) from New Jersey, and Aunt Tram from Seattle.

Andrew was baptized on May 22, 2010 at St. Malachy Catholic Church in Brownsburg, Indiana.

Fr. John Hollowell pouring water over his head, baptizing him in the Catholic faith.

This was a very big day for Andrew and you can see that he can barely keep his eyes open for his own party!

Happy Birthday, Andrew!

Andrew Vu Loftis is here! Our little bundle of joy entered the world on April 14, 2010 at 5:39 pm. He weighed in at 7 lbs, 12 oz and 21 inches long.

I started having contractions two weeks before my due date. My doctor said I was progressing so fast that there was no way I would make it to my due date, so be ready! We went to the hospital Wednesday morning around 5 am and by 5:39 pm, Andrew made his first appearance!
Andrew with his mommy...

The proud daddy...

Andrew has brown hair and steel gray eyes! Yes, they will change in time, but it's still pretty neat. He has his mommy's eyes, nose and ears and his daddy's lips and chin(s). He is adorable beyond words and we are so blessed to finally have him here.

Where does the time go?

So, I have just realized that I have not posted anything since December! School work, regular work and baby is keeping me busy! We think we have everything ready for our new arrival. The crib now has a mattress, car seat is installed and the all important diapers have been bought! I think the hospital would allow us to go home with our baby whenever he decides to come.

I am almost at 36 weeks pregnant. Only 4 more weeks to go! I have gained around 10 pounds (according to my last doctor's visit), which doesn't sound like much, but baby is definitely making a presence in my belly! I think it is finally setting in that we are about to have this baby very soon!

I had a fantastic baby shower at work a couple of weeks ago and came home with lots of cute baby stuff. The baby's room is jungle themed with lots of lions and monkeys. There's nothing on the walls yet (we thought this wasn't necessarily essential before the baby arrived) but at least all of the stuff we have had stored in the room the past few months have found a home. We are very excited and can't wait to meet our new baby boy!

Pictures of the baby's room and such coming soon!
