Where does the time go?

So, I have just realized that I have not posted anything since December! School work, regular work and baby is keeping me busy! We think we have everything ready for our new arrival. The crib now has a mattress, car seat is installed and the all important diapers have been bought! I think the hospital would allow us to go home with our baby whenever he decides to come.

I am almost at 36 weeks pregnant. Only 4 more weeks to go! I have gained around 10 pounds (according to my last doctor's visit), which doesn't sound like much, but baby is definitely making a presence in my belly! I think it is finally setting in that we are about to have this baby very soon!

I had a fantastic baby shower at work a couple of weeks ago and came home with lots of cute baby stuff. The baby's room is jungle themed with lots of lions and monkeys. There's nothing on the walls yet (we thought this wasn't necessarily essential before the baby arrived) but at least all of the stuff we have had stored in the room the past few months have found a home. We are very excited and can't wait to meet our new baby boy!

Pictures of the baby's room and such coming soon!

It's a boy!

Dustin and I found out that we will be expecting a baby boy! We are so excited! I guess now we can start on the baby registry. :) We are slowly but surely acquiring more baby things. We've made a few big purchases for baby and can't wait to get all of the little things that go with starting a family. Who knew that a baby needed so much!

We will be spending Christmas with a few friends. Unfortunately, we are unable to go home for Christmas again this year. Maybe third time's a charm and we can finally go home next year with our new bundle of joy.

In any case, Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Happy Holidays to everyone!

Halloween and Thanksgiving

Well, it has been so long since I've posted something on blogspot. There has been a lot of "stuff" going on. Dustin is still busy with training, Herby is still the same, and I am slowly but surely getting bigger!

Halloween has come and gone. This was our first time to actually pass out candy since we have the new house. We had about twenty kids, which isn't a lot, but at least someone came over. They were the lucky ones because all of them got a handful of candy! The whole family dressed up and I went as Snow White (with a questionable bump), Dustin was a Scientist, and Herby was a Hot Dog!

My sister, Khanh, came to visit during Thanksgiving. We went to a lot of restaurants and even got a little bit of shopping in. I haven't gained any weight during my pregnancy, but as I stepped on the scale this morning, I discovered that I gained four pounds. Now, I don't know how much of that is Thanksgiving turkey, but the mounds of food I have consumed over the past week were bound to catch up with me.

No pictures from Thanksgiving. :( We had to celebrate it on Friday since Dustin worked Thanksgiving, but we had a great time with family and friends with a turkey, ham and all the fixings. It's too bad that we will not be able to be with our OK and KS families this Christmas...again.

Today, I am at 19 weeks and 4 days. We find out the sex of the baby in two weeks! I don't know what to expect. Well, obviously it's either a boy or a girl, but my mind is very conflicted. I refer to the baby as a "he", but when I visualize the baby it is a girl. So, either way, it looks like I will be surprised. We will keep you posted!

Baby's first picture!

This is the first picture of our baby! As of today, the doctors say I am 9 weeks and 2 days. It's incredible how "accurate" they can be with today's technology. I was able to hear the baby's heart beat and see it move around and dance. Dustin wasn't there to see it because they weren't planning on giving me a sonogram, but they couldn't hear the baby's heart beat with the other device they were using. My heart beat was too loud, so they decided to use the ultrasound instead. I was very happy! You can see it's head, body, hands and feet! If you look really close, you can barely see the umbilical cord, too!

We'll keep you updated!

New house and new...

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted a blog. A lot has happened in a short time. Yes, we did close and move into our new home in Brownsburg. It's a great little house with a huge backyard. Who knew that we would be making so many trips to Lowe's!

We have moved all of our stuff from our condo to the new house and have already met our neighbors and a few other pesky friends. Apparently, our property is a mating ground for wasps and hornets. A couple of weeks ago Dustin was attacked by a nest of yellowjackets. Not fun! As we are trying to figure out what to do to get rid of them, we are just leaving them be. Any advice would be great.

Besides the addition of a new home, we are also expecting an addition of...yes, you guess it, a new baby! We are expecting our first baby around April 20, 2010. We are so excited even though this was unexpected. New job, new house, new baby. Everything just falls into place. Anyway, the only picture I have at the moment is me and Dustin at the Indiana State Fair last weekend. Enjoy!

Tomato Bugs!!!!!!

So, Dustin was taking care of our tomato plants this evening and noticed that one of our smaller tomato plants had half of its leaves missing. I jokingly said that it was probably a tomato bug...and lo and behold...it really was! We saw this Tomato Hornworm munching away on our tomato plant getting nice and fat.

Dustin was not happy....

Then...we found another one on the bigger tomato plant which had already produced tomatoes. We read online that these Tomato Hornworms can eat an entire tomato plant in a day or two! I'm glad Dustin caught them before they did too much damage.

So, now we are being a little bit more observant about our plants and hopefully, these will make it to the new house.

Closing in two weeks!

Hi everyone!

Well, Dustin and I finally have everything situated with the new house. We close two weeks from today on July 24th! Scary! It finally hit me today and then I realized that I haven't even started packing yet!

We have so much to do...and much of it is just changing our address and setting up utilities! Yuck! I hate doing stuff like that because it's so tedious.

We're so excited though and can't wait to finally have a yard for Herby to run around in, privacy, and no rent!...except we will have a helfty mortgage payment. :) Believe me, we are going to have a crazy house warming party on that huge deck.

We have been buying stuff for the house here and there. Our biggest purchase has been our new tempur-pedic bed. You gotta love those 4th of July sales. We aren't sleeping on it yet because we are moving shortly and don't want to have to try to move it when it's not in its packaging. So, it is being stored over in Erik's second garage.

Dustin starts his radar class in August and will hopefully be fully certified by the end of the year or early next year. Yeah! The museum is staying busy with summer. Our newest gallery Take Me There: Egypt and the traveling exhibit King Tutankhamen have brought in a lot of visitors. I have met a lot of people from the surrounding states and even some from Europe who have come to see the new exhibits.

Keep us in your thoughts as we begin the process of moving our junk from one house to another. Everyone...have a great weekend!
