New house and new...

I can't believe how long it's been since I've posted a blog. A lot has happened in a short time. Yes, we did close and move into our new home in Brownsburg. It's a great little house with a huge backyard. Who knew that we would be making so many trips to Lowe's!

We have moved all of our stuff from our condo to the new house and have already met our neighbors and a few other pesky friends. Apparently, our property is a mating ground for wasps and hornets. A couple of weeks ago Dustin was attacked by a nest of yellowjackets. Not fun! As we are trying to figure out what to do to get rid of them, we are just leaving them be. Any advice would be great.

Besides the addition of a new home, we are also expecting an addition of...yes, you guess it, a new baby! We are expecting our first baby around April 20, 2010. We are so excited even though this was unexpected. New job, new house, new baby. Everything just falls into place. Anyway, the only picture I have at the moment is me and Dustin at the Indiana State Fair last weekend. Enjoy!

  1. Yeah! You're going to have a half Asian baby too! Congrats! Get ready for the ride of your lifetime... motherhood is such an amazing gift.

We had a family of yellow jackets too. Go to Lowes and get some spray that's specifically for yellow jackets, find their nest, and spray the heck out of it. Then, they also sell the traps (ours were yellow). Buy some of those too and hang them around. Some say to add ham or a sugar-soaked cotton ball to the traps. We tried ham and it didn't seem to do anything. Might want to try the sugar route.

  2. We bought the yellow traps, but it seems to have attracted everything but the yellow jackets. Dustin mowed the lawn the other day and you can tell where the big patch of grass surrounding the nest was NOT mowed. :)
