Indy Zoo

Aunt Khanh is visiting for the week and what better way to enjoy a beautiful day than to take her to the zoo!  (Ok, well, I guess it was more for Andrew and us than Aunt Khanh...)  Anyway, we did a very poor job in taking any pictures while we were out - it must have been the heat.  :)  In any case, the pictures that Dustin did take were the following...

And then this...

Our visit to the zoo was so close to Andrew's normal nap time, that he didn't quite make it through the last quarter of the zoo.  At the end, he was pretty greasy (from the sunscreen) and sweaty (well, from his sweat).  Oh, well...another time...

The pool is open!

It finally warmed up enough outside to buy our little Buddha his first pool!  With as much as he enjoys splashing around in the tub during bath time, we thought he would love playing in his pool in the sun shine.

For the first 4-5 minutes, Andrew just squatted in the water.  In his defense, the water may still have been a tad cold.  :)

Still squatting, but Daddy splashed him with some water to get him used to the temperature.

Attempted to get out of the pool so that Daddy could save him, but we decided that he could stand to play a bit more.  :)  I know...we're heartless.

Andrew finally sat down in his pool and then discovered all of his new pool toys that Mommy bought him.

The bucket was a favorite along with his yellow shovel.

And this is what happens when you splash yourself with cold water.  Happy Summertime everyone!

Loftis Men

Here we are with another four generations of Loftis Men:
Papa Darrell, Andrew, Dustin, and Great Grandpa Guy

Andrew had enough of picture time and ninja-ed his way out of his daddy's grasp.

OKC Zoo

Nana and Papa wanted to take Andrew to the zoo while we were in town and we weren't almost able to go because of the crazy Oklahoma weather, but on the day before we were to fly out, we were granted with some fantastic sunshine.

We had to stop at the petting zoo so that Andrew could get up close and personal with the animals.  I don't think he was too amused by the goat...or its butt.

Nana wasn't afraid to make a new friend.

Andrew decided he had had enough with the goats and didn't want to pet them anymore.

Andrew with his Nana and Papa.

Andrew had a great time looking at all the animals and can't wait to come back again!

After Party

Andrew was a little overwhelmed during his party (weren't we all?), so after the majority of our guests left, Andrew needed a little down time.  How did we get him to calm down?

Put some bunny ears on his head and give him a shrimp chip to gnaw on!

Nothing like kicking back...

This makes him look like a girl, but it's too funny not to post!

We were pretty sure he ate about a dozen of the shrimp chips.

Aunt Paula giving belly kisses...

I don't think he was too excited about them.  :)

Happy Easter!

Happy Easter everyone!  (I know that I am over a week late saying that...)  The past couple of weeks have flown by and I apologize for not getting pictures up sooner.  Andrew had a fantastic time in Oklahoma spending time with his extended family from OK and KS.  We celebrated his first birthday with all of our family and friends back home - which reached a grand total of about 50!

My aunt in Wichita (who also made our wedding cake) made Andrew's birthday cake and she even put a sock monkey on it just like the one that was on his invitation!  How precious!

We were also celebrating Papa Darrell's initiation into the Catholic Church.  Darrell was welcomed into the Church during Easter Vigil Mass.

Nana Fonda bought Andrew his birthday outfit complete with matching sock monkey shirt and birthday hat!

The hat had ribbons to help keep it on his head, but it reminded me of something a princess would wear...

Our little family...

Andrew decided that he wanted a taste of the birthday cake right away.

Andrew's grandparents:
Nana, Papa, Ba Ngoai, and Ong Ngoai

He had a great birthday party and received TONS of presents.  So many that we had to ship a box home.  :)

Happy Birthday Buddha Baby!

Today we celebrated Andrew's 1st Birthday!  We were so excited and Andrew must have known that something was going on because he took a 3 hour nap to prepare for the festivities.

I made Andrew his very first birthday cupcakes (white cake with cream cheese frosting).  Dustin found the pirate cupcake liners and sprinkles for fun.

Andrew has yet to learn proper fire safety because he kept trying to touch the flame of his candle...or maybe it was the frosting?

Andrew's first bite of birthday cupcake!

He's still thinking about it.  Well, he must have liked it because he ate almost half of his cupcake!

After dinner, Dustin and the guys went outside for a little game of frisbee.  Andrew and I enjoyed watching them play and getting a little bit of fresh air.

Andrew has discovered that he loves the grass!  He hasn't tried to crawl off of the blanket yet, but knows that he can touch and pull things that are within his reach.

Dandelions are considered a delicacy to some...

...but not to Andrew.  :)

After trying to eat everything he could pull out of the ground (I'm pretty sure he ate some grass and leaves), Andrew was satisfied with pulling up the grass and throwing it on the blanket.

Andrew had a fantastic 1st birthday and we can't believe we have had this little munchkin in our lives for an entire year.  He has been the best baby and can't wait to see what the future holds for him.
