Brown County State Park

With all of this great weather, we thought we should take advantage of it before the real heat sets in.  Tuesday night we headed south to Brown County State Park.  We only stayed overnight, but it was still great to get out.

Dustin wants a family picture every time we go camping so we can make a scrapbook.

This was the first time I've had to worry about a fire with Andrew.  He had to learn very quickly not to stick his hand INTO the fire.  :)

The simple joys of a lantern.

Exploring.

Waiting patiently for mom to open the graham crackers.

S'more time!

Andrew opted to eat his deconstructed.

I tried to get him to eat a bite of a gooey s'more, but he refused.  Oh, well, I tried.

After a not-so-great night's sleep (for many reasons), we woke up early and headed to the Nature Center.

Andrew loves flowers...

...and started to pick them (like mommy does on our walks).

We had to stop him at 2.

Inside they had a colony of honey bees.  It was so cool!  There was an opening so they could go outside and pollinate the flowers in the bed and then return back.

My little man!

Andrew loves being twirled around until he gets dizzy.

Hiking to Stahl Lake.

You can't see this, but there are literally 150 steps down.  Not fun going back up.

This sign says 1/2 mile, but we were pretty sure it was longer...or maybe it just felt like it.

Loving his daddy.

West Tower.

Peeking out the window.

My two favorite guys!

The Old Fire Tower.

Initially, we were going to go up, but after trekking the 300 odd steps at the trail, we decided that we would take a picture from down below instead.  :)

Broad Ripple Farmer's Market

It's that time of year!  Time to go to the Farmer's Market!  The Bellomo's invited us to go with them to the Broad Ripple Farmer's Market last Saturday and we had such a great time.

Andrew was ready to go!  (Unfortunately, the hat does not stay on for long.)

We bought a quart of strawberries.  Delicious!

Lots of people brought their dogs with them.  Cole was having a field day approaching them.

Jim said this farmer's market had fantastic crepes and we couldn't pass them up.

Andrew even ate most of his.

Rosemary...oddly enough is my least favorite herb.

Jim, Jess and Cole.

The family!  It's not very often we take a picture with all three of us in it.

Trying to get a picture with the boys.  Cole looks happy...Andrew looks drugged (which he was - he had a cold).

This picture is hilarious!

I love it when items have a second use.

Grissom AFB

A few weeks ago, Dustin had the opportunity to take a FAM flight at Grissom Air Force Base.  Please don't ask me what FAM stands for because I don't remember, but all you need to know is that Dustin was able to fly free and watch from inside the plane while it practiced refueling in the air.  And since I am writing this post and not Dustin, the vocabulary and terminology will be VERY simple.  :)

Dustin says this is a 1957 KC135.

Here are the flight docs...just in case someone loses their breakfast.

Copilot

The C17 Globemaster we drug around for an hour between Raleigh-Durham and Savannah. The pilot was on a checkride, and our boom operator said they were doing great.

Dustin enjoying the ride.

Cruising along at FL330.

Jim enjoying the view from the boom pod.

One of the two "booms" on the flight.

Dustin had an awesome experience!  It's only once in a lifetime you can do something as cool as that!
